More Issues Than Vogue - Pale Aesthetic

Since moving to London and getting my very own flat, my love for shopping in regards to fashion and beauty, has well and truly translated into homeware. I dread to think of the amount of money I have spent on usual trinkets and milk jugs (I don't even like milk), but I now appreciate things that I never even gave a second thought to, such as hanging pictures on my walls

Now, my flat is rented. Im not exactly rolling in it, so that means I have to put up with horrible magnolia walls (who even paints their walls magnolia these days!?) and not being able to put pins in my wall and hang extravagant canvas. So I began a hunt for some simple typography to add a little something to my bedroom fireplace.

I'm obsessed with copper, which you will well and truly find out in my next few posts, as well as my first youtube video ;) (Stay tuned), so I began a hunt for some copper foil art… I didn't find any. I did however find these little gold beauties from Dottie Rocks on Etsy!

Aren't they stunning. Quotes are sometimes cringey, I'm not exactly ready to post Carpe Diem, or some other motivational cliche all over my walls, but these have just enough fashion influence to work for me, and I defiantly have more issues than vogue. They were a good price and I just picked up some cheap frames from Wilko to finish off the look, what do you think?

  1. I recall my first apartment (decades ago, don't ask when). It was so exciting, but at least I was able to use push pins to hang up a few odds and ends, and my walls were a bland, neutral champagne.

Those two framed quotes are clever without being too cliched (think of the cat poster: "Hang in there, baby' -- that would be unforgivable and I'd be compelled to comment that it's time for you to move back to Cleveland. Sorry, was that snobby of me?).

Not sure how London rents stack up vs NYC, but I'm sure they are not economical. In any event, best of luck with your new living quarters, I hope everything works out for you.

(Sorry if I was a bit verbose, it's a slow Monday at work and the owner is not here.) Ciao...

  4. Love the quotes. They add such flair to the space. You will love decorating your flat. I remember my first flat. It was quite fun to decorate. I am sure you will find some economical items that suit you and your flat perfectly.
