Copper Details

So... I'm obsessed with anything copper, even to the point where pennies are beginning to become attractive. I'm not saying Im going to go as far as to install a copper floor, but nothing looks nicer then adding a few copper details to a minimalistic room.

The best bit about having my own (shoe box sized) flat in London, means that I can decorate it anyway I want! Recently I have been trading clothes shopping for home ware shopping, & slowly but surely my place is starting to feel like a home, & embody my style. I have a plan for each room & this is the inspiration for my bedroom, thanks to the likes of Oliver Bonas & H&M this Christmas, my plans are becoming a reality...

My November Favourites

Okay, I'm feeling inspired.

I have just got back from a blogging event, and although I was there for work and not personal gain, its given me a bit of confidence, and although I am looking to explore the Youtube world asap, I have decided to bring my blog out of hibernation.

Anyway these are some of my all time favourite things. Products I keep coming back to time and time again so I thought I would do a little post for you.

These Zara perfumes smell amazing and are super cheap! I prefer the oriental over foral as it has more an expensive smell (a.k.a. doesn't smell like a £10 high street product) and isn't too over powering. My all time favourite perfume is Miss Dior but at £50 a bottle these one tend to enter my shopping basket a lot more frequently.

My Daniel Wellington watch is on my wrist everyday, I feel lost without it. I put off getting one for so long because I really didn't think I would use it as I have my iPhone in my hand 24/7, but its turned out to be so much more handy then I thought (pardon the pun) I always find myself looking at my wrist and feeling shocked when its not there.

When I find a brand I like, I stick to it. So this is now my third bottle of Mac studio fix foundation, I have quite oily skin so I always use it with a powder, but I love the finish. I would love to try some others (any suggestions?) but as Its made the repurchase list many times, Its also made this one.

This last item is a newish one. Lets first get this straight, I am not a reality TV fan, and the Kardashians are at the bottom of my list of people I am interested in, however social media has made me very aware of the Kylie Jenner lip, and this was something that made it's way into my make-up bag because of it (Mac, Brave).

Wednesday Wishlist

Jacket - ASOS
Shorts - ASOS

I'm a monochrome kind of girl, however I am a sucker for a bit of bright yellow/lime! I don't think I have been this obsessed with an outfit in a while, which is why it earned a blog post all by it's self! However can I justify shorts as all the stores start bringing out there autumn/winter collections?

The Jacket although more winter appropriate, may still be a guilty buy as I brought two long line blazers last weekend (the infamous black and white ones everyone has from Primark!). I love long blazers, having just started working I am desperately seeking pieces that can be dressed for work and for casual, I feel long blazers are the perfect compromise for this, as they look great dressed down with jeans or made smart with matching trousers.

My Graduation

Dress - Lispy
Shoes - La Moda
Gown - BCU graduation ;)

So I have officially graduated.

When I was 9 years old I decided I wanted to study fashion design at university, fast forward 12 years and that dream finally came true, when I graduated on Monday with a degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. Who would of thought that something I decided in year 5 of primary school would stick.

I wanted something bright to wear under my gown, and I have always been a complete sucker for yellow! This dress is from Lispy, a place I never actually shop, but fit me like a dream... 4 months ago that is! When I re-tried it on just 5 says before my graduation, a combination of deadline bingeing, italian food and moving house take-aways meant it was far too small! Thanks to my amazing, eat nothing my fruit and veg, 5 day diet (patient pending) I actually managed it.

The shoes, although not the most elegant were a wise choice, as the long walk across the graduation stage, is defiantly one I thought I would mess up. The last thing any gal wants is to end up face first in a heap on a very public and important stage!

OOTD | 10 Downing Street

Dress - H&M
Watch - Daniel Wellington

So for all you bloggers currently obsessing over finding new and unique locations for your outfit posts... how did I do? ;)

So I recently got to visit 10 Downing Street for a business meeting with my new internship. That's one for the bucket list ay, my Nan was well proud! Obviously the hardest thing was deciding what to wear, it's not every day your wondering around the prime ministers house. So a leather was the obvious choice...? I honestly love this dress, well I should say loved this dress**, it's very hard to find work suitable clothes that you actually feel fashionable in, but with the leather panel and racer front top, I brought this without even having work in mind!

**That dainty little slit couldn't quite handle my not so lady like strides and it's now not so dainty and a little bit erotic... Whoopsie.

The Inner City

So I've been pretty absent from the blogging world recently. (Kinda...)

My world has flipped upside down - in a good way - in the last few months. I've finished university, traveled Italy, got an internship and (in my opinion, the most exciting) moved to London! So you could say it's been pretty great, however each one of those things brought along its own mountain of stress, but I am finally at a point where I can relax again. :)

Job wise. I am currently social media and PR gal for Whichit, Check it out! It's this new picture app for creative decision making, great for making decisions in the changing room or if you're looking for some styling inspiration. I currently writing a blog for them (hence the slight neglect to mine) over on whichit.blogspot.com, about trends and whatever else takes my fancy.

My personal blog has slipped away from me a little bit recently, and lost its minimalist style in order to document my amazing trips, but I am bringing it back to how it was! Lots more monochrome, minimalism and endless shopping lists.

Apologise for the rambling post, but blogs are virtual dairies after all, but in short... Im back.

(The article featured is from this months ID magazine, and is defiantly worth a read)

My Hopeless Obsession

Bottom Left - Ramona Suspender
Bottom Middle - Carrie Knickers
Bottom Right - Alison Bamboo G String

I recently have a new found underwear obsession, because knowing you have hot matching underwear on under your clothes just makes you feel so much more confident, regardless of the fact its not on show, right?

Introducing Hopeless Lingerie. There are no words for how perfect this is, as its all so simple, yet oh so unique. Black is defiantly to most sexy and practical colour underwear to own. I love how various harnesses and bralette could be worn above clothing to add a unique twist, or even just peeping out the top of a shirt or low rise trousers. Everything is handmade to order and you have a chance to customise if you want, the delivery time is long, but there to ensure the high quality, and as I order alot of clothing from american or Chinese websites, I don't really mind the wait.

My Baby Florence

Necklace - New Look
Top - Zara
Trousers - Topshop
Sunglasses - Primark
Shoes - Birkenstocks

Okay, this is going to be the last of my Italy posts, the trip went on for a couple more stops, but I bluffed before, this is my favourite place, so I wanted to end it on a high and get back to my usual minimal blog posts.

We were chasing a storm the whole time we were here so the weather was slowly taking a turn for the worst! I hadn't really prepared for this, so my footwear wasn't quite up to scratch (shout out to Birkenstocks for being surprisingly good shoes for the rain!) Anyway, shock horror, an all white outfit!

Florence was beautiful, around every corner I fell more and more in love, our apartment here was also my favourite of all too, a little rustic maisonette, I would move there if I ever got the chance!

P.S. That last picture is defiantly the poshest picture in the whole world.

Venice By Night

Top - Topshop
Trousers - Zara
Shoes - KG by Kurt Geiger
Clutch - Karl Lagerfeld
Necklace - OVS

Okay, I am stood a bit like a sloth in this picture, the boyfriend told me a really really rubbish joke to make me smile, so my face is a little filled with shame. This outfit doesn't have a lot going on, but thats what I love about it. If I was a model I would show you how well this outfit works as just simple floaty top and perfectly fitted trousers, but I am not so you will have to settle for my awkward stance. Do you wanna know how in love with these trousers I am? If I was a cartoon character these would be my part of my never changing costume. I am on my second pair (after I wore the last pair to death) and although that may be shameful, a pair of trousers that feel like they are made for you only come along once in a while.  Although these accessories hold a label name, they were both cheeky sale finds, lets not pretend I have the cash to splash!

I may of just rambled on about a lot of random points, whoopsie! but in all honesty I mainly just wanted to show you how pretty Venice was at night as well as the day.

Venice

Sunglasses - Primark
Necklace - New Look
Top - Mango
Shorts - Missguided
Shoes - Topshop
Watch - Daniel Wellington

I picked up this top in Milan, and although the rest of my wardrobe for this holiday is exclusively monochrome, I couldn't resist a small pop of colour for this colour city. I traded my Birkenstocks for these Topshop senso inspired sandals and don'd my tip essental Grafea bag and Daniel Wellington watch. I also picked up a little trip memento (Venice leather strap), which became a theme throughout the holiday.

When Im old and bored of the rest of the world I am moving to Venice. This place is indescribable. I have wanted to go here ever since I was little, I've scoured the internet for pictures, but nothing compares to being there. Sat in a little bar I watched a little old man opening the shutters to his apartment by the water front and tend to his flowers and it honestly looks like the most peaceful life you could hope for.

Unfortunately gondolas are expensive, so I didn't experience that tradition but since you can do punting down at the river in Oxford, for £20, I wasn't too fussed. So we got around by water bus (I didn't even know this was a thing?!) but we scored lucky with our apartment, being in the centre of everything, meaning nearly everything was walking distance, but realistically, you do not need to go on the water to experience venice.

Shopping in Milan

^^ This is a shopping centre, why are ours not this pretty ^^

Top - Zara
Skirt - Bershaka
Sandals - Birkenstocks
Backpack - Grafea
Necklace - OVS

Okay so the reason I like to write about trends and carefully stage pretty pictures is that my awkward little face wasn't cut out to be a main feature, but unfortunately it's presence on my blog is going to be at large this week, with some holiday outfits.

The first stop in my traveling extravaganza of an Italian holiday was Milan. Now as you can gather from the title of my blog, me and sun don't exactly go hand in hand and at 34 degrees, there was no other option then an all white minimal outfit. Watch the Birkenstocks and Grafea bag appear in every post in the next week, as to keep costs down I travelled with only hand luggage, therefore interchangeable and versatile items became my best friends.

So Milan was amazing, the flat we stayed in was a little maisonette found on airbnb which is the best site in the world for flats around the world. It was only a short tram ride from the centre, where my dream of shopping in milan came true.

Check back for posts on Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento.

Welcome to the pools of self indulgence.

I've had a little bit of a break from the blogging world for a while. I've seen a lot of these posts atm and I finally understand them. I've been a fan of the blogosphere for a number of years and had my own for about a year. I never promote myself or show anyone what Im doing, although I love ever comment and follow I get, I have never strived for 'fame' or freebies. However I am watching more and more blogs being created as (or turn into) areas for vanity and pools of self indulgence. I think it's easy to tell who these people are and it's massively put me off.

What brought me here was my love for fashion and the diary like posts people create, an insight into peoples style and personality. I've decided not to throw in the towel because I enjoy this for what it is, a personal thing. If you are here to show off please leave because I am not interested.

I'm going to Italy!

Bag - Grafea
Leather Look Headphones - H&M x Urbanears
Birkenstocks - Topshop

Featured on '@Grafea' Instagram

I have been planning this trip since I was about 16! I have always had an obsession with Italy but my family didn't go on holiday very much when I was growing up, so this is like a dream come true!

I'm Interailing so that I can see as many places as possible, staying in each place two nights, via airbnb with a few *day trips* in between:

Milan
Venice
Florence
*Pisa*
Rome
Sorrento
*Pompeii*

I want to do blog posts on each place; outfits, activities, apartments, etc. I find these type of posts so interesting on other blogs, a combination of fashion and lifestyle. I'm not sure if I will be able to post in Italy, but if not in 10 days I will have some amazing things to post!
